Thomas William Kloetzli

President / Executive Consultant

In March of 1983, Mr. Kloetzli began his credit card career by joining First Omni Bank, N.A. By 1985, he had successfully managed both the Customer Service and Collections functional units. While in Customer Service he implemented the bank’s first telemarketing unit by launching a preapproved Visa Gold card solicitation resulting in response rates of 30%.

In 1986, he was promoted to Business Development Officer and implemented many business critical marketing initiatives. These included:

Provided assistance in the product start up of one of the first Visa Cobrand products, the First Omni/ACE Hardware Visa card

Relationship management for a $100 million portfolio participation program between First Omni and Philadelphia Saving Fund Society

Negotiation and close of over $24 million in new business development achieved by securing new Agent Bank and Affinity group programs

During 1987, Mr. Kloetzli actively participated in conversion from a multibank owned service center to Total System Services® (TSYS®). Shortly after the conversion to TSYS, he was promoted to Systems Liaison Officer where he was responsible for management of the Total System® relationship and Systems Development efforts. In this new role he managed many joint development efforts between TSYS® and First Omni. These included:

Beta site implementation of the first online TSYS® collections system

Implementation of first autodialer interface between TSYS® and a user bank

In 1990, Mr. Kloetzli was named Portfolio Acquisition Conversion Manager. During the next two years he converted $200 million in outstandings acquired through the purchase of 14 cardholder portfolios. As a result, Mr. Kloetzli successfully managed each conversion from First Data Resources to Total System®. While doing so, he also implemented the following programs:

Mastercard Gold product start up

Proprietary portfolio change-in-term program

Classic and Gold statement redesign projects

In early 1993, Mr. Kloetzli was appointed Systems Project Manager for the TS2® Beta site conversion of 1 million First Omni accounts from the original Total System® platform. Managing his project team, he successfully coordinated the development of design specifications, testing requirements, datamapping, interface development and conversion support of the $750 million Omni masterfile in September of 1994.

Just prior to the conversion to TS2® system he was promoted to Bankcard Executive. Shortly thereafter, he was named Manager of Systems Research and Development. To assess systems limitations and prioritize new enhancement requests, he represented First Omni on various Joint Application Design (JAD) committees with TSYS®, Nations Bank and Bank of America. In addition, he managed the systemic implementation of the first TS2® photo card system. Additionally, he played a major supporting role in the successful start up of the First Omni/Bell Atlantic and Crown Petroleum cobrand programs. Other significant accomplishments include:

Extensive experience in interface and new functionality development and implementation

Jointly assisting TSYS® in the development of the TS2® ACE Batch Feed process

Management of the first TS2® Client to Client portfolio conversion of the International Bank of Commerce portfolio

Management of the first full scale TS2® deconversion of the Bell Atlantic Cobrand portfolio with Chase Manhattan Bank and First Data Resources

Provided assistance in the full file Client to Client conversion of the First Omni portfolio to Bank of America

Mr. Kloetzli is a 1977 graduate of Salisbury State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He also attended and completed the American Bankers Association National School of Bankcard Management in 1986 and the National Compliance School in 1988. In 1998, Mr. Kloetzli founded the TWK Consulting Group, Inc. He felt that a unique opportunity existed to share his expertise and experience with TSYS® clients faced with the challenges of converting to the TS2® platform.

Lezlie Downes

Executive Consultant / Project Manager

In July of 1982, Ms. Downes began her credit card career by joining First Omni Bank, N.A. as a Customer Service Representative. During this time Ms. Downes was a member of an elite group of representatives who specialized in the support of Omni's Credit Card/CardSavings (DDA) product. She also participated in a telemarketing program during the launch of First Omni's VISA Gold product.

In June of 1983, Ms. Downes was promoted to Supervisor in the Credit Department with responsibility of 4 credit analysts. The credit maintenance area she managed was primarily responsible for customer service support and evaluation of limit increase and account responsibility requests. During this period Ms. Downes gained valuable experience in credit lending.

In September of 1985, Ms. Downes was again promoted to the Systems Management group as a Systems Liaison/Project Manager. She served as liaison between Omni Bankcard departments and current processor Service Center, Inc. (SCI). Responsibilities included problem resolution and program implementation.

During 1986 and 1987, Ms. Downes played a major role in the conversion of First Omni's portfolio to Total Systems Services, Inc. (TSYS). Specific responsibilities included:

Data mapping

Interface set-up

Reports and correspondence conversion and set-up

Training coordinator

Assisted in the re-development of the CardSavings product

After the conversion to TSYS, Ms. Downes continued her role as Systems Liaison/Project Manager with primary responsibility of Issue resolution with TSYS. Other responsibilites during this time included:

Acquisition and Portfolio conversion support

Management of the Bank A. Levy portfolio FDR conversion in October 94

Beginning in 1993, Ms Downes was again a major participant n the TS2 Beta Conversion project. Ms. Downes was primarily responsible for:

Management Report mapping and set-up

Dedesign of the CardSavings product

Implementation of the Product Change product

Data mapping

Ms. Downes was an active participant in the First Omni/Bell Atlantic cobrand start up during 1995. Projects managed included:

Development of a Secured Card product

Development of an interface to support batch-fed Product Changes

In early 1996, Ms. Downes was responsible for the successful systems start up and conversion of the Crown cobrand portfolio. This conversion included the implementation of a Consumer Reward Program with an outside fulfillment vendor and custom design statement in support of the reward program.

Ms. Downes assumed the role of Manager of the Research and Development in late 1996. She was responsible for 4 project managers. Responsibilities included:

New interface programs

Support of Acquisition and Succession programs

TS2 module development and Issue resolution

TMS rewrite

Management of disclosure group and TSP (Transaction Special Processing)

Consumer Reward and Rebate options

Active participation in the TSYS JAD (Joint Application Development) forum between TSYS, First Omni, Bank of America and Nations Bank

In December of 1997, Ms. Downes was appointed Systems Project Manager for the Bank of America deconversion of the First Omni portfolio. This project was successfully completed in April 1998.

Denise Marvel

Executive Consultant / Project Manager

Ms. Marvel began her banking career in October of 1987 when she joined Second National Federal Savings Bank. In 1989 she was promoted to Operations Department to help manage the Merchant program. In 1990 she was promoted again to help manage the bank's Washington DC branch and then subsequently in 1991 to EDP Auditor. She was responsible for:

In early 1993, she was promoted to Audit Manager. Her duties were broaden to include responsibility for managing EDP, financial, operational and compliance audits.

In June of 1995, Ms. Marvel joined First National Bank of Maryland and was promoted to Director of Audit and Compliance Control of the subsidiary bank, First Omni. Thus beginning her credit card career. Overall, her responsibilities included:

Implemented a detailed review process utilizing Risk Assessment approach for review of each division (Accounting, Collections, Credit, Customer Service, Security and Recovery). This process identified various controls and associated risks at a micro level and subsequently provided the foundation for the development of detailed policy and procedures

Supported the TS1 to TS2 conversion.

Developed detailed testing and verification control practices for the TS2 system

Implemented a vendor verification and audit program.

Support/Participated in the development of various projects ranging from marketing initiatives to change in terms and TS2 screen development

Supported all co-brand initiatives

Supported and analyzed new applications and programs (e.g. Falcon- Fraud Prevention System)

Participated in various TS2 Focus Groups and JAD committees

In April of 1998, Ms. Marvel joined TWK Consulting Group, Inc. to pursue consulting opportunities. Since that time, Ms. Marvel has provided her expertise in the audit and compliance arena. Some of her recent projects include:

Analyzed OTIS System Security access and structure for TS2 client

Provided testing scenarios through risk analysis of TS2 client

Reviewed change in terms process for TS2 client and identified potential compliance issues

Performed detailed risk assessment for large bank of the Exception Services unit through evaluation and identification of controls and risks and identification of best practices

Developed Risk Based Audit Program for community banks through risk assessment approach

Developed various regulatory programs and testing matrixes for compliance initiatives

Developed comparative analysis program for Fair Lending

Ms. Marvel is a 1994 graduate of Wilmington College with a Master of Business Administration and a 1989 graduate of Salisbury State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Kathy Wright

Executive Consultant / Project Manager

In February 1987, Ms. Wright began her career with TSYS, as a Project Analyst I, in the TS1 Conversion Department. Her first assignment was one of TSYS’s largest conversion projects at that time, Trust Company Bank of Georgia. Her team was responsible for the education, selection, loading and testing of the Bank Control Records (Options) which were to support the banks product lines; as well as verification of the data mapping criteria for the banks’ merchant and consumer accounts being converted.

After that, Ms. Wright was assigned and completed numerous successful start-ups, conversions, and deconversions of client portfolios for clients such as: The Dime Savings Bank, Gary Wheaton Bank, Apple Bank, National Bank of Commerce, and First Chicago Bank. Responsibilities included:

Coordinate the order and installation of Data Line

Coordinate and consult on the Design and ordering of Cardholder Statements and Disclosures

Coordinate and consult on the Design and ordering of Plastic Card stock

Gather and document Custom Code Requirements

Gather and document Monetary and Non-monetary Interface Requirements

Data Mapping documentation and verification; ensuring the code and options are in sync

Create and perform test scripts for all custom code

In 1990 she was promoted to a Senior Project Analyst. She was assigned to an elite team of analysts tasked with reviewing all custom code projects and standardizing those requested by multiple clients. In addition, the team was responsible for creating, documenting and implementing ‘Standardized Test Scripts. During this time, Ms. Wright was also assigned to the Central Fidelity Bank conversion team with the primary responsibility to manage the Bank Control Record selections.

In 1991, Ms. Wright was assigned to the C&S Sovran Bank conversions, followed by the First Omni Bank’s Far West conversion and the start-up bank for American Pacific Bank. In addition to managing Bank Control Record selections she validated and balanced statements post conversion. Other accomplishments included:

Create, document and perform a detailed training class for on Statement Options; addressing their relationship to how they appear on a statement form, the regulatory requirements and the steps to balance a statement

Create a detailed Conversion Week Procedures

Participated in initiative for both the Education Committee for Bank Control Record Options, and the TSYS IBM Documentation Basics and Tutorial Beta Testing

In 1992, Ms. Wright was assigned a unique project with the Southwest Student Services Corporation, called the College Card. It was the first College Card program at that time, which would enable college students to use a plastic to access their Student Loan funds.

In late 1992, Ms. Wright had been promoted to the position of a Project Manager. She managed a group of 4 Project Analysts, with the focus on ensuring that project management and quality assurance Start-ups, Conversions and Deconversions Specific responsibilities included:

Prepare individual project plans, ensuring all critical path areas are noted

Maintain a working knowledge of each project assigned to each Analyst

Train each Analyst on the project flow and all tasks required to accomplish the project

Edit and audit project documentation for completeness and accuracy

Issue resolution throughout projects

Ms. Wright was again promoted to Client Development Manager, Assistant Vice President and was assigned the conversion for the First Tennessee Bank. The conversion required particular detail around terms and conditions. First Tennessee’s executive management voted the conversion as a great success.

In 1996, Ms. Wright assumed the responsibility of managing projects for one of TSYS top clients, GECCCC, successfully completed the TSYS Management Development Program and attended the ABA National School of Bank Card Management.

Ms. Wright’s additional duties were:

Create and participate in a team responsible for the continuous editing of the Options document, to ensure all new enhancements were documented and entered into the on-line publication of the Options

Create and implement an Issues Database for tracking problems and/or resolutions encountered during the conversion and start-up process

In August 2000, Ms. Wright transferred to the TS2 Conversion Department and assumed the position of Implementation Architect/Project Coordinator, Associate Director. The first project assigned to Ms. Wright was the California Commerce conversion from TS1 to TS2. Since her expertise was in TS1 Options, she was very helpful not only with the set up of the TS2 Options to support those that had been on TS1; but also helpful to the Data Map team in ensuring their logic supported the portfolio. Her primary duties were:

Manage and direct assigned team of Project Analyst in the implementation of Consumer Card Start-ups and Conversions on the TS2 platform for new and existing clients

Schedule and manage the education, selection and load of the Options, providing guidance to ensure client is optimizing TS2 functionality

Act as the primary point of contact for options, collateral and system functionality while the client is in the conversion/start-up process

Perform a variety of activities to include environment set-up and testing, hierarchy definition, managing option deliverables and data map analysis

Schedule option training, selection and all conversion verification phases

Facilitate weekly project status meeting between client and PA group

Assist in Functional Site Analysis and Scope sessions for conversion projects

Ensure all milestone dates are met according to plan

Track verification progress during mocks, dress rehearsal and conversion; and ensure issues are being resolved

Mange First Occurrence validation scripts with PA group, ensuring execution is on time and accurate

In 2001, Ms. Wright completed the conversion of California Commerce and the start-up for Daimler Chrysler. The following year, she was assigned to the Circuit City retail conversion from TS1 to TS2, the Sears US conversion and the Barclaycard conversion.

In October 2002, Ms. Wright was accepted to attend the Emerging Leader Program, through the Synovus Leadership Institute.

In 2004, Ms. Wright brought her extensive TSYS knowledge, project management experience and hand-on management style to TWK Consulting Group. The addition of her expertise will enhance the quality of any bankcard or retail card issuer’s conversion or special project experience.
